In an attempt to bring in a new look for some cars in 2012 , we will open up the allowable bodies in the Thunder Class. The new company on the block is ultimatecustomfiberglass.com which is now manufacturing Thunder Car bodies made out of a fiberglass. The fiberglass is made highly flexible to allow it to be banged and it will then resume its original shape, thus making it much easier to keep your car looking good all season. Ultimate Custom Fiberglass is now considered a spec supplier for their bodies for Capital City Speedway. They have a 2011 Chev Camaro Body, a 2011 Ford Mustang and a 2011 Dodge Challenger.
Other bodies may be purchased from Five Star Bodies which have a 88 Monte Carlo and AR Bodies which has an 88 Monte Carlo and a Chev Caprice Body.
You may choose a steel bodied car of your choice as well. The requirements are that the body must resemble a street production car. Late Model style bodies are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please check with us.
We will address any weight penalties at a later date, but all cars must still meet minimum weights as per the current rule structure.

Congratulations to all of our 2011 Winners and Award Recipients
Congratulations to all of our 2011 Season Champions and our other winners. A fun time was had by all at our 50th Season Banquet held at the Lone Star Ranch. I have to thank all of our racers who came dressed in western attire. A few took it to the limits and really looked great and made it fun.
The Rookie of the year award had a family affair to it this year with Braydon Oakely winning the Four for Fun Rookie of the year and Mike Oakely winning the Legends Rookie of the year award.
A new award this year, The Sportsman of the Year Award, went to Lori Mitchell.
The Driver of the Year Award was awarded to the ever popular driver, Casey Cavanagh, for his contributions to the track, his attitude, his sportsmanship, his driving abilities and the fact he comes to the track every week with a main goal. That is to have fun.
A new category of award was made this year. That being the Presidents Award. This award is awarded to people who cannot compete for the Driver of the Year Award. These are individuals who contribute to the track each and every year but are not drivers. There usually is one Award per season, but we had some catching up to do and felt it was important that three people receive the awrd this year.
The first President's Award was given to Scott Boeyen for his continuing support of the track. Scott is always there if we needed a hand, and he was always there on a weekly basis with his clean up truck and crew. Scott has been doing this for many years and was time he was recognized for his contributions to CCS.
The second President's Award was presented to Liz Dorning for her contributions to the track over the last number of years. We cannot tell you how many that has been, but rest assured it has been many. It was time that Liz was formally thanked for her ongoing contributions to CCS.
The third President's Award was presented to Al Dickie. Al has been a long time supporter of CCS and more so in 2011. From the begining of our time with CCS, Al Dickie has been one of the individuals who has spent more time at the track with me, spent more time doing car shows with me, and helped make the track presentable each and every week helping me with the ongoing property maintenance of the track.
Thank you to all of President's Award recipients for your help in making CCS the best that it can be.
I would like to thank all of our drivers, car owners, advertisers and fans for a great 2011 season. I can assure you that it will get even better each and every year.
I look forward to seeing all of you again at the races in 2012.

Thanks to Extreme Paintball
Thanks again to Scott Boeyen for having us out playing paintball. We all had a great time shooting each other and as a result we will plan another event earlier in the season next year. We hope to get a few more bodies out to play next year, so when we announce next year mark it down and come on out and shoot your fellow racers.
