If you are looking to kill a few hours we would appreciate your help. Looking to clean up some trees, so bring a chainsaw if you have one. Looking to grade around the new concrete pad so if you have a shovel please bring it down.
I will be therefrom 10 to 4. Thanks.

Great Night of Racing At CCS
Myers Automotive Group Night was a great success with Rogers TV on board to catch all of the racing action. Rogers TV will show last nights race tomorrow night starting at 7:30. Make sure you tune in for all of the racing action which took place last night.
Late Model - Steve Munro held the pole for the start of the feature and lead from the green flag to the checkered. Justin Hol,tom was never far behind but Steve never gave him a chance to sneak by.
Thunder - With two Thunder cars out of St Eustache made things a little more busy on the track last night. Both cars did well and we expect to see them again some time this summer. Todd Musker faired well with the inversion number, putting him on pole. Todd went green to checkered but with a whole lot of good racing in between. A late caution made it interesting, giving us a green white checkered.
Legends - Kevin Foisy showed us once again why he is one of the best in the country. Kevin Foisy tokk the checkered, but there was some great racing going on behind him. Legends, this year has provided us with great car counts and some of the ebst racing.
Mini Stock- It was the Chris MacDonald show last night after Ryan Foley and Kyle Baker who started the feature in pole and outside pole where sent to the back after two false starts. Chris moved up into the pole position and lead all the eayu to the checkered flag. Ryan did some great racing to get back into the pack. Kyle Baker broke a rotor and just finished the race.
Four For Fun - Aj Dickie took another feature last night showing he is the guy to beat this year. Brandon Oakely and Jason Moss pestered him all race long but never made it past.
Make sure you join us next week for Stittsville Trailers Fan Appreciation Night, and get your chance to see all of cars on the track at intermission.

Drift Competition Tonight.starting at 7:00 pm.
Over the last year we have slowly started to grow our Drift League and new this year is our Drift Competitions. If you haven't seen Drifting before what a great time to start with one of our competitions. It should be quite the show and one you will not want to miss. There should be a good mix of Amateur drivers along with some Semi Pro drivers. We should see a few drivers coming down from Toronto way and some some PQ.
Unfortunately, Motor Mouth will not be with us as he is down in the States with the Great American Race, but regardless the show must go on. So please join us tonight for some great fun and some great drifting. Practice runs from 2 to 6 with the competition starting at 7:00 pm.
We hope to see you there.

Jeff Saunders from Enstone Construction to do his part.
I have had conversations with Jeff about how to get fans back to CCS. My family and I can only do so much to get people to support Capital City Speedway. Jeff has sent out an email to his contacts. It reads:
I am sending this email out inform you of the great entertainment that is right in your backyard that is a must to attend.
The track owner has put a great deal of time and finances to
try and make this a viable business and needs community support.
If everyone where to send something like this out to all of your contacts on your email, then perhaps, we can get a few more people out to the track to help support it. I believe in Capital City Speedway and the value it offers to all motorsports enthusiasts, but my beliefs alone will not keep it open. Please help me, help Capital City Speedway.
Thank you and See you at the Races.

Some HOT Racing on Wednesday
The weather on Wednesday was hot and so was the racing. The attendance was light and we will have to assume that the heat kept most of our race fans at home. That was a shame because the temperature at the track was just perfect for watching racing. It was a beautiful night where you could sit out in shorts and a tee shirt and watch the racing action all night long. There are not many nights where you can do that during our short summer season and I am having trouble figuring out why so few people showed up.
Does Ottawa and the Valley want to see Capital City Speedway continue to offer stock car racing on a weekly basis? If the answer is Yes, then you need to show your support by attending as often as you can. If no, then continue to stay home on one of the best nights we have had so far this year. Capital City Speedway can not operate unless we have your support, and all you need to do is come to the track, buy a ticket and be entertained.
Help keep the track viable and buy a ticket today.
The winners for June 20th.
Late Model - Justin Holtom took home his first feature win of 2012 with a strong showing and showed why we will be running for the Late Model Championship this year.
Thunder - Todd Musker ran a great race with Greg Ogilvie a close second. Dave Stinson and Karol Thibideau were very close and finished third and fourth. Watch these four drivers to make it interesting each and every week.
Legend - Kevin Foisy took his third Feature win of the year. The great part about that race was the great driving by some of our new and younger drivers. Chris Zieran, Matt Haufe and Brian Saunders put on a great show and more of that will come each and every week from these three. Rob Sugrue who missed the first few races had an excellent race and put his name back on the map with a strong finish in the feature.
Mini Stock - Kyle Baker took another feature win in his hunt to remain the Mini Stock Champion for 2012. Kyle will be back next week with a few more pounds added to his car which should make things quite interesting. Watch out for Chris MacDonald and Casy Cavanagh next week.
Four for Fun - Malcolm MacDonald took home his first feature win this week. The great thing about Four for Fun is just about anyone could take the feature wins from week to week. Tune in next week to see who the lucky one will be.
Join us next week for Myers Automotive Group Night. This is our "Schools Out Party" with all children 12 and under getting in for free.

Drag Racing Cancelled for June 22.
The completion of the Drag strip is close to being finished but unfortunately is not. Therefore we will have to cancel the scheduled drag races for June 22nd. The concrete will be poured Friday morning, and hopefully the lighting will be going up on Saturday. The block walls will also be installed on Saturday. There is still some landscaping which will need to be completed, but will have to be done after we open.
We are looking for some volunteers who would like to come down on Saturday and give us a hand in getting some of this work done. If you have a couple of hours to spare we would love to see you on Saturday, starting around 10:00 until around 4:00 pm.

Racing TONIGHT!!!!
It will be hot at the track tonight but that is only the action. It will be a great night to sit out and watch stock car racing as it is usually cooler there compared to the city. Come on out and root for your favorite driver.
There is a small chance of rain this afternoon but it should be long gone come race time, so gather up the kids and your friends and head on out to where the cars put the Thunder in the Pines - Capital City Speedway.

Drag Strip Update
Sometimes, things take longer than you had hoped or expected. That is the case with the renovation going on now with the Drag Strip. We are pleased to say that things are moving forward as of today. The electrical is getting run today, and we hope to have lights by early next week. The timing system had some unexpected delays but we should have our new system by late next week. We have hired a concrete contractor today with the forms for the pour being laid on Monday, with the concrete pour happening this time next week. We fully expect that our new Opening Night will be June 29th. We are trying to get this right the first time, so you will be able to fully enjoy the premises, the experience and the drag strip. We have heard from a number of individuals who are very excited about the Strip being re-opened, and we would like to thank you for your patience, as we pull this all together. There are a number of things that we will continue to work on all summer long to improve on your Drag Racing experience at Capital City Speedway.
I would like to thank all of you for your interest in Capital City Speedway and the Drag Strip. We hope to see you soon.

What a Great Night at CCS
If you were not there last night you missed a great one. We saw some great racing in all classes and a huge turnout of Enduro Cars. It was nice to see that the schedule worked well last night with no major problems allowing the Enduro cars to complete all 100 laps. Todd Musker, one of our Thunder Car drivers, take home the checkered flag in the 6/8 cylinder class with Dave Quinton winning the 4 cylinder class.
In the Late Model field Sean Kennedy lead from the pole to take the win in his Ottawa Rental Services Late Model. Greg Ogilvie, in his Barhaven Auto Centre sponsored car, continued his pursuit of another championship by winning the Thunder Car feature. We have word that the #77 car of Jody Hiderman and the #72 car of Bob Williams will be back next week. We are still waiting for Keith Ridell to get his car ready to go. It was all ready but blew the engine due to a faulty spark plug, and is now waiting to get the motor back in his car. The Legends feature was a 4 car race between Kevin Foisy, Matt Haufe, Brian Saunders and Chris Zieran. They failed to disappoint with a exciting race to the flag. Kevin Foisy took the win with all the other three cars with feet of each other. Kyle Baker was back in his winning form taking the Mini stock feature with Chris MacDonald hot on his heels. Kyle was falling off late in the race with Chris gaining every lap, but Kyle held on for the win. AJ Dickie took the Four for Fun win with his Saturn. AJ has shown he will be the car to beat this year in that class.
Rick Gillis, from Al Car Sand and Gravel, ran his first race in the Four for Fun class last night and has gotten a bit of the racing bug in him now. Rick was already inquiring about getting into a mini stock. Hopefully, Rick will be out soon enough in his new ride.
Rumour has it that Derek Horsely is putting the final touches on his Late Model and we should see that Late Model next week.
It was good to see a large crowd out to watch the racing action last night. We need to see that continue to grow each and every week to continue to bring Stock Car racing in Ottawa to you on a weekly basis. If you love stock car racing and want to see it continue, please keep coming to the track, and next week bring some of your friends.
See you at the races.

Don't miss this Wednesday Night's Race
This Wednesday Night we are expecting some great weather and some great racing. See who is going to take a lead in the points race, and who is going to be bumped back looking in. We have seen some great racing over the last two races, except for our partial rain out last week, and we should expect that again this week. Opening Night we had another Enduro and we had 31 cars entered and are expecting the same this week. Maybe more, maybe less, but regardless Enduro's are fun and entertaining to watch.
So come on out this Wednesday Night and have some fun "Where the cars put the Thunder in the Pines"
We hope to see you at the races.
