Interstate Batteries Night was Electric
Another great night of racing is in he books, and thanks to Interstate Batteries for making it all possible. We could not make this all happen without our nightly sponsors and Interstate Batteries has made this night possible for the last two years. If you are looking for any type of battery, please make sure it is an Interstate. You can visit them at the All Battery Center located at 171 McFarlane Road, Nepean, Ontario or call them at 613-798-9700.
Mother Nature gave us another excellent night for racing and our drivers did not disappoint. We had some great bumper to bumper racing all night long, a a great intermission show with the Wicked Garage Car Show Series on hand. Over 50 cars took to the track and put on a great display of some of the nicest cars in Ottawa. Thanks to Larry Way and Wicked Garage for their help in making this happen once again.
Late Models saw Shawn Kennedy take the checkered flag, and the points lead after Steve Munro spun leader Ken Baird close to the end of the race, sending them both to the back of the pack. This was the break Shawn needed after running third for most of the race. Shawn took over the pole on the restart an raced his way to the win.
Thunder saw the biggest car count of the season with Greg Ogilvie taking the win after another close battle with Todd Musker.
Legends saw an improved car count with Matt Haufe taking another win and a larger points lead in that class.
Mini Stock saw a great car count and saw another week of great racing. Casy Cavanagh made it back to the winners circle just ahead of Nolan Gould.
Andrew Thompson captured the checkered flag for his first win ever. Andrew has been working hard to make his car better every week and it finally paid off.

Karson Kartage Night was BIG !
What looked like another race night that was going to be rained out turned out to be one that we were able to squeek in before the rain came. I am glad we tried it to get it in because it was a great race night and we had our largest Enduro turnout of the season.
The Late Model class saw some bumps and bruises with a couple of cars into each other after 23 laps of great racing. The Sparks Street Mall sponsored car of Al Dickie, driven by Paul Dejong finally got things going with that car and Paul lead most of the race before young gun Justin Holtom manged to get by. Paul ended up getting into the back of him in corner # 1 and Justin ended up in the wall with Paul right behind him. This left us with a green white checkered finish with Ken Baird back in the winners circle.
Thunder Car owner and driver, Todd Musker, was back again in the winners circle extending his lead in his quest for a repeat of the Thunder Championship. Security Connection's # 03 with Chris MacDonlad behind the wheel seemed to find the right set up on that car. Chris ended up with a second place finish - his best finish so far this season. What car will be out tomorrow? Come on out and see who will step it up this week.
Legends saw Matt Haufe take the checkered for the second week in a row. Legends car count has been up and down this year for some reason, but new in today that Steve Yendall has put his newly rebuilt motor back in and will be with us this week.
Mini Stock saw some great battles all night long and a few chills and spills thrown in for good measure. Nolan Gould made it to the finish line first for his first feature win of the season, with a gaggle of cars hot on his tail. The mini stock class has had some of the best racing this season and expect no less this week. See who take the checkered flag this week, and make sure you are there to cheer on your favorite driver.
Mike Atwill made it back to the winners circle after a few week sweep by Brandon Scott. Pops MacDonald saw some speed and look for him to step it up again this week. It will be interesting to see if anyone has brought something different to the table to get by Mr. Scott this week.
Our enduro was the best so far this year with over 35 cars entered. It was an entertaining show and plenty of cars left after the 100 laps. Due to holidays we were not bale to produce the final, but we will have those later this week. Sorry for the delay.

Racing is on Tonight
We are going to try to get the races in tonight. There will be a shower or two shortly, but we do expect it to stop around 6 pm. This will give us enough time to dry the track and get the races in. We cannot promise anything, other than we are not going to cancel the races tonight, unless we get rained on heavily after 7:15 . We have had enough rain outs this year, and we do not want another one. Don't put off today and maybe come out next week. Come on out and watch live stock car racing at the place of excitement. Capital City Speedway. Capital City Speedway offers the best rain out policy in the business.
Head on out tonight and see some great racing along with a 100 lap enduro. Capital City Speedway is always the best bang for your entertainment dollar.
I hope to see you at the races tonight.

Dymon Storage Night had something for everyone.
Dymon Self Storage Night had something for everyone. We had a great line up of cars, a CHEO Fundraiser, a Bicycle give away, draws for our NASCAR trip to Pocono, Dirt Sportsmans and a great night weather wise. We also had a great turnout of fans to watch it all. Thanks to everyone for making it such a great night.
The Late Model race was won by Steve Munro who made it back into victory circle this week. It has been several weeks for Steve and it was good to see him back. The race for top spot got a little closer with a good night by Sean Kennedy. Ken Baird is still in top spot but now only leads Sean Kennedy by 1 point. The next few weeks could be the determining factor in the Late Model Championship race. Will Ken Baird stay in top spot, or will Sean Kennedy who has had some strong races lately finally take over the lead? Come on out next week and cheer on your favorite.
Thunder car saw Greg Ogilvie and Todd Musker battle it out again this week for the win. Todd had an early lead only to see Greg Ogilvie catch him with two laps left to go. Greg took over the top spot, but only by inches going into the final corner. Todd Musker stayed outside and kept the pedal down to stay close to Greg. The two got tangled up coming out of four for the checkered flag, sliding across the finish line and into the infield. Todd Musker crossed the line first giving him the win.
Legends saw a small car count this week with Matt Haufe taking the checkered flag again this week. That makes two in a row for Matt and puts him in top spot for the Championship.
Mini Stock saw the return of Kyle Baker after his fire last week, and he must have done something right to fix it as he won the feature race. Casey Cavanagh and Nolan Gould battled behind him for most of the race but could not catch Kyle.
Four for Fun action saw Brendon Scott take the winner again in that class. Brendon Scott has won a number of features this year and seems unstoppable in his quest for the Championship. We keep loading him up with weight, but he keeps taking it to the front and staying there.
The Dirt Sportsman were on hand with us with a lighter than expected turnout. That did not stop them from putting on a great show. Joey Evans got his first win of the season with a strong run in the feature. We will see them again August 28th, and we are expecting a better turnout for that race.
Thanks to all of the fans who bought a ticket for our Golf Ball toss for CHEO. We managed to raise
over $ 700.00 for CHEO.
Join us next WeEdnesday for Karson Kartage Night and all of our regular classes along with a 100 Lap Enduro.
I hope to see you at the races.
