2013 Drag Schedule Now Posted.

Things are taking shape now for our 2013 Drag Season as the 2013 schedule has now been released. New in 2013 is our Saturday Shootout Points Championship. There are 7  dates, and all of these will be dial in competitions. The Championship will be based on your best 5 nights. This means that if you compete in all 7 you will be able to drop 2 of your worst nights, scoring your best 5. If you only make 5, all 5 will count for your final point totals. We are looking at having 4 classes - Juniors, Street Car, Bikes and an Open Class ( Semi and Super Pro )with no delay box use. If we can get enough cars registered for each class, we will run all of them in the series. Registration Fees and Payouts are under review now and will ultimately be decided based on car count. More cars equals more money.

We will be announcing our Drag Meeting in the next week or so, so you can have a say in how we do this. Registration Forms will be made available that night.Higher entry fee with higher payouts or lower entry fee with lower payouts. We would like to keep the costs to race reasonable so everyone can compete on a limited race budget. Buy backs at this point will be limited to only a 1st round loss. Please make sure that you attend this Drag meeting as everything will be on the table and open for discussion.

We are looking at doing a number of things to the track this year to improve the existing facility. We have come a long way in one year and we will continue to make CCS better every year. We hope to make Capital City Dragway your Drag Strip destination for good times with good people.

Stay tuned for more Drag Strip News.

SFL Metal Works Brings Back its "Metal" in 2013

SFL Metal Works Brings Back its "Metal" in 2013

Capital City Speedway is pleased to announce that SFL Metal Works will be back in 2013 as the Four for Fun Title Sponsor. Julio Pasinetti, the owner of SFL, has been a long time supporter, driver and builder of CCS and we are very happy to see him back with us again in 2013.

SFL Metal Works is a metal fabrication facility where Julio can make you just about anything you are looking for. If it has to do with metal and welding, he is your man. I have used SFL Metal Works in the past and I can vouch for the quality of work that SFL puts out.

SFL Metal Works also is your place, if you are looking for race car fabrication work done. Julio can install that roll cage for you, along with any chassis work you need done.

New this year for SFL Metal Works is chassis set ups. One of the keys in winning at CCS, or any track for that matter, is the car has to be set up right. Julio has been doing chassis set ups for many years. I didn't want to say for how long because it is a really long time. Julio has now
opened his doors for Racers who are looking to gain an edge on their competition by having their cars set up the right way. Just ask last year's mini stock champion Chris MacDonald. Chris will attest he could not have done it without the help of SFL Metal Works and Julio. Julio worked on that car to make it a front running car, as well as the # 56 Thunder Car of Jessica Pasinetti and the # 7 Thunder of Greg Ogilvie. Now you can have that winning set up for your Four for Fun car, your Mini Stock car or your Thunder Car. Having the right set up is crucial to being competitive and even more if you are looking to win races.

Do you want to win, or be more competitive, then you need to put the final piece in you race puzzle and give Julio a call.

Rumour has it that we may see another Thunder Car come out of that shop for next year. Stay tuned.

SFL Metal Works is located at 20 Bexley Place in Bells Corners. Julio can be reached at 613-726-0990

Happy New Year to All !!!

The Gow Family would like to wish all of you
a Safe and Happy New Year.

2012 Comes to an End

The Gow Family would like to thank all of you for your help in making 2012 a great year. It takes a lot of work to make Capital City Speedway work and we could not have kept it open without your support. Support for the track comes from a number of different people. Volunteers, advertisers, staff, drivers, car owners, friends, family and from our great fans. We need all of you to keep things going at Capital City Speedway and I hope we can count on your support to keep things going in 2013.

In 2012, we continued to make progress on a number of different areas and a number of different venues. This year we focused on the re-opening of the Drag Strip and by the support we saw over the year, we can expect even bigger car counts and support for Drag Racing at CCS in 2013. We saw an increase in our spectator count for  Stock Car racing, compared to 2011, and we saw some growth for Drifting. Hopefully, that progress will continue, and 2013 will be our best year yet. It has been a bumpy ride over the last two years, but dare I say that the road will be a smoother one moving forward? One thing I do know is that if we see continued support from our CCS supporters and grow it some more for next year, we are bound to be successful. What that means to all of us is that CCS will remain open and continue to offer a variety of motor sports activities to all.

In 2013, our energies will be directed on making the Drag Strip even better. We have a number of initiatives planned to make it more professional and functional. We are currently working with the City on some zoning issues that need to be cleaned up and once those are done, we hope to re-open the Stittsville Flea Market at CCS. We have a long way to go yet to make that happen, but we are trying hard to bring another venue to our facility. Our goal  is to continue adding days, or nights where we have something going on. This is the only way we can continue to operate this facility and keep it profitable. If we can do that, then it bodes well for all of us.

Thank you for being a part of Capital City Speedway, and we hope to see you in 2013.
