Two days ago I spoke with a gentleman about coming out to race at CCS. He was interested in coming out in the Mini Stock class and wanted to know more about making that happen. We had a great conversation and he may end up in Mini Stock, but more than likely will be in a new Four for Fun car for 2012. I will not count that one until I get a picture of it or it shows up on Dyno Day. Which is May 9 - we are taking time bookings now. What I do know for sure is that we will have another female driver in the Mini Stock class running for the Rookie of the Year. The car has been bought and will be racing in 2012.
What impresses me the most this year compared to this time last year, is the number of new people coming out to race this year. Even the talk of new cars and new drivers coming is way up over this time last year. I never count the cars until it is home in the shop getting ready for the season, but even so by my count we are looking at 12 new cars for the 2012 season. If we add that onto last years car count and factor in some cars who are not coming back from last year, we are still way up from last years numbers.
What does that mean?
That means great racing in every class. Great racing means great entertainment for both our fans and our drivers. Capital City Speedway will be the place to be this summer.
