Memberships can be purchased at any and all of the practice dates. You must have your memebership purchased prior to Opening Night, May 21st.

Volunteer Days:

We are planning on painting the grandstands this year as they are in dire need of some paint. May 11 and 12th we will be scraping the stand s to get them ready for paint. We will be painting the stands on the 17th and 18th. The more help we have means the less work everyone will have to do.

Dyno Day:

The Dyno Day is tentatively set for May 17th.

Online Tickets Sales New to CCS for 2014

Since we took over the Management of  CCS in 2011, we have constantly been trying to improve it and make it bigger an better.  We brought in our Drift Night on Thursday's, and re-opened the drag strip in 2012. This year we have grown our racing program to include " Summer Sizzler " on July 5th,  our Monster Truck Show July 26th and 27th, expanded Summer Slam and have added our 200 lap Enduro.

To keep the process moving in the right direction we have added Online Ticket Sales to the Line Up in 2014.  We are now offering Online Ticket Sales for our three big events, Summer Sizzler, Monster Truck Madness and Summer Slam. We will review the success of this program and may extend it to our regular weekly racing series as well.

Rule Changes to Mini Stock and Thunder

New rule changes in Mini stock and Thunder.

Mini Stock - new tire rule -  205/50/15 tire is allowed and a 1/8” tread depth rule will be enforced.

Thunder - new in 2014 and beyond - The GM metric chassis will be the only chassis allowed in this class. Currently all of our Thunder cars run the chassis and as such moving forward will be the only one allowed. A full tubular GM metric chassis will be allowed but they must have the same pick up points as a stock GM metric chassis. We will be removing the camaro, leaf springed cars and camaro clipped cars from the eligible list of chassis's.

The revised 2014 rules will be updated shortly to reflect these changes and the others made to date.

Thunder ? - Now Watch for the Lightning

If you had asked me two months ago what was going to be the car count for the Thunder Car Class, I would have said same as last year. That would have been about 5 to 6 cars. They say good things come to those who wait, and I have been waiting three years for it to happen, but I am now happy with our Thunder car count for 2014. It is still early and we may see even more cars coming, but at this point, we are looking at 7 to 8 more Thunder cars this year compared to last year. This means we are expecting to have a minimum 12 car field each and every week.

When you put the "Thunder Back in the Pines" you will see some lightning on the track with a great field of cars out there giving all of you, one heck of a show. Even though we have a number of new cars, there still is a number of Thunder Cars out there gathering dust. It is time to get them out as well and bring them back to the track. I know of about 3 to 4 Thunders that could make it out, along with a couple still for sale looking for a new driver and team. If we can do this together, that would make it a 16-20 car field. Can you imagine what that would be like. It will be something we haven't seen in 20 years.

Sport Systems Canada " Plays a Part " in 2014

Matt Mould, the owner of SSCI and car owner and driver of the #28 Legend Car, has joined us as an advertiser once again in 2014. Sport Systems Canada will be an advertiser with us for the Stock Car track and the Drag Strip. Matt and Sports Systems Canada put in the Drag Strip bleachers last year, and if things go well there this year, may be putting in another set for us again.

Sport Systems Canada has purchased the Title Rights to July 9th and that will be the Mould Family Memorial Night. Karson Aggregates is equipped with a fleet of trucks including tri-axles, trailers, water trucks and floats to serve our customers' varied needs.

With more than 200 million tonnes of reserves, the Karson Group has enough aggregate to serve Ottawa and Eastern Ontario markets for the next century and beyond. Aggregates are available for roadbeds, asphalt paving, and ready-mix concrete. Sand or topsoil is available for concrete production, landscaping and golf course construction.

Our Quality Control department was created to perform regular testing of our aggregates and asphalt to ensure that we not only meet specification, but conform to The Karson Group's high standards of approval.

Capital City Speedway is pleased to announce that SFL Metal Works will be back in 2014 as the Four for Fun Title Sponsor. Julio Pasinetti, the owner of SFL, has been a long time supporter, driver and builder of CCS and we are very happy to see him back with us again in 2014.

Driver Info: Kevan Bennett has a diverse background in motorsports that spans 30 years.
Kevan started competing at area dirt tracks racing stock cars in the late 1980's.
Later made the switch to road racing in the 1990's competing in formula Mazda,
Formula Ford 1600 series as well as competitive Karting. Kevan took a hiatus
from racing for just over 10 years. In 2012 he has found his way back to compete
in the Dirt Sportsman.

Johnathon Ferguson is back at CCS in 2014

Capital City Speedway is pleased to announce that Johnathon Ferguson will be back in our Sportsman Modified division in 2014. Johnathon was part of our 2013 season and we are happy to see him back again.

John started racing Go Karts when he was 5 years old and did quite well in it. He made the move to Sportsman at the age of 14, and won his first race on his 11th start at Brockville Speedway.

John is looking forward to the upcoming season at Capital City Speedway. He will be competing at Brockville, Cornwall and Mohawk, and perhpas a couple of starts at Can Am Tracks.

Steve Billings to Battle for Sportsman Championship

Capital City Speedway is pleased to announce that Steve Billings will once again race his Sportsman Modified at CCS in 2014. Steve finished second in points, only 6 points behind Dana for the Championship. Look forward to a very close points year one again in 2014.
