Construction continues at CCS....

Last year I made a promise to our Drift community. That promise was if they supported us we would do what we could to make CCS more Drift friendly, and a little more technical. That translates into having more fun, and fun is what Motor Sports should be about. I am happy to say that the Drift additions are now complete and waiting for pavement. I would like to thank Trevor Hartwick of Hot Equipment Rentals for helping us out with the excavation work and our new friend, Rick Craig of National Paving. Rick and his friend Andy are new to CCS and Drifting, but their Drift cars are almost complete and will join us for our Saturday Night Drift events. Rick has donated his time and equipment to pave the additions to the track and for that we are thankful. Please remember National Paving and Hot Equipment Rentals when you are in the need of this type of service. ( See Drag Strip news below.)

To be called a Motor Sports Facility you need to cater to more than Stock Car Racing and Drifting. That is why we  will be re-opening the Drag Strip this summer. To get the Drag Strip ready will require time, energy and money, but we need to get it right to make it work. We are hoping that work will begin this weekend down at the end of the strip. The start for the Drag strip will be down by Speedway Road and will run back into the oval, so work will begin down there first. In talking with a number of Drag  guys their concern was for a burnout box and launch box. We are happy to say that the construction of that box should start this week or early next. Our goal at this point is to construct a 60 foot launch box to start with, and hopefully extend that further next year. As with any expenditures at the track, future construction and development of the strip will depend on the success of it this year. So if you are a drag guy or girl, and want to see the Drag Strip expand and continue for many years to come , please help support it this year. We still are looking for Corporate advertisers for the Drag Strip, and if you are interested in doing so, please call the track office at 613-723-7223
