Capital City Speedway is pleased to induct four new members into the Capital City Speedway Hall this coming Wednesday Night. On George Drummond Memorial Night will will be inducting two members into the Drivers Category and two members into the Builders Category.
The two individuals being inducting into the Builders Category this year are:
The first Inductee has been one of our longest supporters of the track, and has been associated with this track for about as long as I have been around. Needless to say, a very long time. He has been a sponsor of the track for too many years to count, and has been a great help to me and my family during our tenure at CCS. I am pleased to announce that Mr. Wayne Young, the owner of Young's Speed Shop, will be inducted into the Capital City Speedway Hall of Fame.
The second Inductee has been the voice of Capital City Speedway since the early 1980's and started with Dave Booth. He then continued throughout the Penny Bell years, took some time off during the Ottodrome days, was back during the Arnie Malcolm era, missed one year and decided to come out of retirement to help the Gow Family return CCS to its glory days. We could not have hired a better man for the job and are happy to have him with CCS once again. I am pleased to announce that Mr. Brian "Motor Mouth" Goudge will be inducted into the Capital City Speedway Hall of Fame.
The two individuals being inducted into the Drivers Category this year are:
The first Inductee raced for many years at CCS and around a number of tracks. He has been recognized as one of the area's best drivers. He started driving for friend John Stacey of Stagra Automotive in 1971 and continued that relationship for 16 years. The first car they ran was a 1957 Chev and then went on to race Open Wheel Modifieds, and then to Late Models. He won numerous races in Canada and the U.S. He was said to be married to a race car first, had a gift for driving a race car, and a great fabricator. I am pleased to announce that Daytona Dave Lee will be inducted into the Capital City Speedway Hall of Fame.
The second Inductee raced a number of years at CCS back in the 60's and was very successful doing so. In fact he has a number of pictures and posters already in our Nostalgia Room, and had a relationship with one of our current sponsors today, Myers Motors. He drove during the 60's in a Modified Sportsman car and called CCS his home for many years. I am pleased to announce that Tom Boucher will be inducted into the Capital City Speedway Hall of Fame.
Please join us this Wednesday for the presentation ceremonies.
