Opening Night Tonight

It has been a long winter and finally its time to go back racing. Well tonight is that night. It looks like Mother Nature will cooperate with us tonight and look forward to a great night of racing. Come on out and cheer on your favorite driver or root for one of our new drivers.

Some new things are in store for the Four for Fun class this year compliments of To Be Racing. Malcolm MacDonald and Joann Blais, the drivers of the # 80 and # 81 Four For Fun cars, have put up over $ 2,000. in payouts for the class over the season. They love racing and the Four for Fun class and want to see it continue and prosper and have backed that up with this big donation to the track. Four for Fun will pay out back to sixth spot this year. The payout is as follows: $ 50.00 - $ 35.00 - Pit Pass - $ 20.00 - $ 15.00 - $ 10.00. Other than the pit pass this will all be funded personally by them. I was speechless concerning their donation and the amount they put in themselves, but all I can say is " Thank You ". If you have ever thought about getting into racing, then think about our Four For Fun class. It is an inexpensive way of getting into racing and trying it to see if it is for you or not.

Rideau Auctions has kindly donated a new adult bike to be given away tonight. Hunter McCaig has stepped up again this year as he kept bringing us bikes last year as well. Rideau Auctions is located in Winchester and has a public auto auction the 3rd Saturday every month.

Our thoughts go out to Derek and Sarah Horsley today as we hope they get better and get back racing. Derek and Sarah we the unfortunate ones to be involved in the accident on the Queensway yesterday and were hit by a big truck. Sarah was in surgery yesterday and Derek fared better but is still banged up. Sarah moved up from Four For Fun this year into Casey Cavanaugh's mini stock and was really looking forward to running for the Rookie of the Year. Derek was looking forward to running his Late Model after a rebuilding year. Kyle Chartrand has stepped up and will be doing double duty tonight in his mini stock and Derek's Late Model.

It will be a nice night tonight so come on out and see what Capital City Speedway has to offer.
