Construction begins at the "Capital City Speedway Motor Sports Park"

Today was not the first day of work on the 2012 season, but it was the first day of construction for what will be the best year CCS has seen in a decade or more. Today, I felt like a fat kid in a candy store, as it was the start of a vision I have had since my short time as the operator of CCS.  Today was the beginning for what I would like to now call the "Capital City Speedway Motor Sports Park". To remain viable in business today, you have to think creatively and find new and other sources of income. We have listened to our customers, old and new, and have given them what they want. A place to come and enjoy the many various motor sports activities which exist today. Last year we had the Stock Car program and re-introduced Drifting during the season. This year we will have an even better stock car program than we did last year, we have expanded our Drifting operations which  will now include a better Drifting track. We will re-open the Drag Strip, and are now offering Time Attack and Lapping sessions. We  think with the addition of these programs and the addition of others possibly as early as  next year, will guarantee the financial stability of the property in the long run. What that means to all of you is, we will be around for your enjoyment for many years to come.

I could not have done this without a number of people working with me behind the scenes to make all of this happen. There are a number of people who have devoted countless hours helping, and I would like to thank all of them. There are too many names to thank them individually, but I would like to say  "Thank You" to all those fine people.

"Special Thanks" go out to Trevor Hartwick and Hot Equipment Rentals for their donation of the backhoe today, and Brandon Scott from Karson Kartage.

" Special Thanks" go out to all of our great Corporate Advertisers helping us out in 2012. We could not do anything without their support, so "Thank You". Remember "Support Those who Support Us", and do not be afraid to let them know that you are buying their products or services because of their support of CCS.

Special Thanks go out to the Drummond Family for their continued dedication and financial support of this facility over the last number of years. Without that support, we could not build what we are building, and we would not have the facility we are going to have.

It is really an exciting time to be involved with Capital City Speedway, and I hope you think so to.

See you at the races, or the drifting, or the drag races, or the Lapping !!!!
