What a Great Night at CCS

If you were not there last night you missed a great one. We saw some great racing in all classes and a huge turnout of Enduro Cars. It was nice to see that the schedule worked well last night with no major problems allowing the Enduro cars to complete all 100 laps. Todd Musker, one of our Thunder Car drivers, take home the checkered flag in the 6/8 cylinder class with Dave Quinton winning the 4 cylinder class.

In the Late Model field Sean Kennedy lead from the pole to take the win in his Ottawa Rental Services Late Model. Greg Ogilvie, in his Barhaven Auto Centre sponsored car, continued his pursuit of another championship by winning the Thunder Car feature. We have word that the #77 car of Jody Hiderman and the #72 car of Bob Williams will be back next week. We are still waiting for Keith Ridell to get his car ready to go. It was all ready but blew the engine due to a faulty spark plug, and is now waiting to get the motor back in his car. The Legends feature was a 4 car race between Kevin Foisy, Matt Haufe, Brian Saunders and Chris Zieran. They failed to disappoint with a exciting race to the flag. Kevin Foisy took the win with all the other three cars with feet of each other. Kyle Baker was back in his winning form taking the Mini stock feature with Chris MacDonald hot on his heels. Kyle was falling off late in the race with Chris gaining every lap, but Kyle held on for the win. AJ Dickie took the Four for Fun win with his Saturn. AJ has shown he will be the car to beat this year in that class.

Rick Gillis, from Al Car Sand and Gravel, ran his first race in the Four for Fun class last night and has gotten a bit of the racing bug in him now. Rick was already inquiring about getting into a mini stock. Hopefully, Rick will be out soon enough in  his new ride.

Rumour has it that Derek Horsely is putting the final touches on his Late Model and we should see that Late Model next week.

It was good to see a large crowd out to watch the racing action last night. We need to see that continue to grow each and every week to continue to bring Stock Car racing in Ottawa to you on a weekly basis. If you love stock car racing and want to see it continue, please keep coming to the track, and next week bring some of your friends.

See you at the races.
